The House On Swiss Avenue edition by Irene Sandell Literature Fiction eBooks

I met the author, Irene Sandell, by happenstance on a SuperShuttle in Kansas City earlier this month. The three of us in the van got to talking and when she said she was an author of historical fiction I was intrigued. I love history and as she explained to me the storyline in this book I could not wait to read it. Ms. Sandell is a great storyteller, as evidenced by the way I saw it play in my mind in such detail. The relationship between the Robyn & Adeline is especially precious. A great read, and I definitely want to check out her other two books!

The House On Swiss Avenue edition by Irene Sandell Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Sweet but very predictable. I felt I was reading something that was written as an assignment for a creative writing class!
The language is not beautiful nor unique, but the actual mystery is good. Though there are lots of references to Dallas landmarks, history, & businesses, I didn't learn anything new, & I'm a very novice historian of the area. I was hoping for more history & more powerful writing. Predictable characterizations & some characters were totally distracting from the story. Some conflicts were emphasized, but then never resolved.
Irene Sandell is a good story teller. I liked learning more about Dallas and Lancaster, TX history. There are a couple of interesting twists to the story, too. If you like historical romance books, you should read this one. I will definitely read more of this author's books. Glad I found out about this author.
I chose this book because I know the author and know of her interest in Texas history. I am not a history buff and probably wouldn't have chosen this book but I'm glad I did. I have enjoyed the read.......it has peaked my interest to read another one of her books. It's a delightful way to enjoy some of the history of a special place in Dallas.
I loved this book. Great story! It kept you interested and I did want to put it down.
Cute story and I loved the Dallas references. But don't go looking for this house, I suppose it is losely based on the Munger family? Great historical fiction. A little predictable.
This book was chosen by my book club for discussion. We have not discussed it yet, but I'll be interested in what others thought. I thought it was an interesting book for people who live in Dallas. I am very familiar with Swiss Avenue and the beautiful homes on a Swiss Avenue - mansions really. I am not sure other people outside of Dallas would be so interested, but it is hard for me to determine that because in addition to the history, there is an underlying sweet, interesting story. The book kept my interest throughout. There is some mystery involved too.
